Presented as an official gift from the French Republic to His Majesty Emperor Naruhito, this exceptional timepiece celebrates the longstanding friendship between France and Japan while showcasing the excellence of French haute horlogerie.

A Timepiece Created for a Historic Diplomatic Occasion

For this unique commission, Pequignet introduced a significant symbolic change to its design. Replacing the brand's traditional Fleur de Lys, the watch features the official "RF" monogram of the French Republic on the movement, crown, and buckle, emphasizing its status as an official State gift and highlighting its exceptional diplomatic significance.

A Dial That Represents Two Nations

The hand-painted miniature dial, created by artist Philippe Jacquin-Ravot, beautifully combines two iconic symbols: the oak tree, representing the strength and resilience of France, and the cherry blossom, a timeless emblem of Japan's elegance and cultural heritage. Together, these elements form a visual tribute to the enduring relationship between the two countries.

French Craftsmanship at Its Finest

Powering the Attitude Impériale is Pequignet's in-house Calibre Initial®, an automatic movement offering a 65-hour power reserve. Produced with a strong commitment to local manufacturing, most of its components originate within 80 kilometers of the brand's headquarters in Morteau, with 72% sourced from France. The movement is also certified as a Chronometer by the Besançon Observatory, one of the highest distinctions for precision in watchmaking.

To complete this exceptional creation, Pequignet collaborated with renowned French artisans, including Jean Rousseau for the handcrafted alligator leather strap and France Étuis for the bespoke presentation box, further reinforcing the watch's status as a true ambassador of French craftsmanship.
