PEQUIGNET ROYALE PARIS CHRONO BPM: WHEN FRENCH WATCHMAKING FOLLOWS THE RHYTHM OF MUSIC
The Pequignet Royale Paris Chrono BPM combines the precision of a chronograph with the energy of French electronic music. Inspired by French Touch, a musical movement that blends house rhythms with filtered soul melodies, this model transforms a traditional timekeeping function into a way of interpreting different musical genres. Its blue and black gradient dial, together with a BPM scale, connects the language of sports watchmaking with the atmosphere of Parisian nightclubs.

A Chronograph Tuned to the Beat
The Royale Paris Chrono BPM introduces a different approach to chronograph measurement. Instead of the usual tachymeter scale found on the Royale Paris Chrono, this edition features a beats per minute (BPM) scale, linking the chronograph to the tempo of music.
The system works by activating the chronograph and counting 30 bass drum beats, providing a reference for interpreting the scale according to the measured rhythm. Between 110 and 130 BPM, the reading points toward French Touch; at 60 BPM, reggae; and between 70 and 95 BPM, 1990s rap or the slower atmospheres of late-night ballads. Above 140 BPM, the reference shifts toward trance music.
In this way, measurement is no longer linked exclusively to sports performance. Instead, it takes on a musical dimension, turning the dial into a guide to different sonic worlds.

A Dial That Evokes Parisian Nights
The visual design reinforces the watch's connection to music through a gradient that transitions from electric blue to black, evoking nighttime lights and the dark interiors of minimalist clubs. Its grainy texture and double peripheral groove add depth to the composition, while the beveled indices combine polished and satin-finished rhodium surfaces.
The dark subdials maintain contrast against the background, with a small seconds display at three o'clock and a 30-minute chronograph counter at nine o'clock. At the center, the polished steel hour and minute hands feature blue Super-LumiNova TC1, while the central chronograph hand and counter hands complete the display.
Another distinctive detail is the sound bars positioned in the area representing the interval between midnight and 2 a.m. This element pays tribute to the importance of balanced sound without distortion, bringing a concept from the musical experience into the watch's design.

The Calibre Initial® as a Metronome
At the heart of the Royale Paris Chrono BPM is the Calibre Initial® Chronograph, Pequignet's fifth in-house movement. Its architecture includes a central 60-second chronograph hand, a 30-minute chronograph counter at nine o'clock, and a small seconds display at three o'clock.
The movement was designed to deliver a slim-profile chronograph. Furthermore, as with the Maison's other four movements, all its components are sourced within an 80-kilometer radius of the manufacture. This proximity is part of Pequignet's approach to watch production and complements the French identity that defines the model.

Sporty Proportions and Functional Details
The 316L stainless steel case measures 39.5 mm in diameter and 12.7 mm in thickness. Its finish combines satin-brushed and polished surfaces, complemented by a domed, glass-box-style sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment. The crown features a raised fleur-de-lis, while the two chronograph pushers have polished concave tips and align with the crown.
On the reverse, a caseback secured by six screws incorporates a sapphire crystal window that allows the movement to be viewed. The watch offers water resistance to 5 ATM and has a 47 mm lug-to-lug distance, with a strap width of 20 mm.
The black Cordura strap completes the design and features an interchangeable system, a characteristic shared with the rest of the Royale Paris collection. The 316L stainless steel buckle combines polished and satin-brushed finishes and incorporates the fleur-de-lis motif once again.

A French Identity with Two Distinctions
The design also brings together two references to French heritage. Pequignet holds the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) distinction, which recognizes excellence in French craftsmanship and industrial heritage. Meanwhile, French Touch is part of France's intangible cultural heritage and is expected to be submitted for UNESCO recognition.
Both references are represented in a watch that connects mechanical tradition with contemporary cultural expression. The Royale Paris Chrono BPM does more than introduce a different scale: it uses the chronograph as a meeting point between watchmaking precision and music.

With this edition, Pequignet offers a different interpretation of the Royale Paris collection, giving rhythm a central role without compromising the watch's essential function. The result is a timepiece that connects the manufacture's identity with French musical culture through its movement, design, and a scale intended to measure more than the passing seconds.
