WHAT IS WATCHDNA?
I got introduced to WatchDNA through a message on the Instagram platform. I had received many messages before for marketing , promises of “account engagement” and offers of products.
I was initially skeptical. I researched , checked the site and found it to be a legitimate watch enthusiast and expert alike , one stop shop for information on watches.
It then got the offer. Would I write an article for an upcoming event. Thomas J. Sandrin , MBA made the offer putting no pressure on this , but if I would like to and sent it in then great.

Surely there was a subscription, a monetary contribution somewhere here. I am the eternal pessimist. I found there wasn’t, I didn’t have to, unless voluntarily , advertise or pay for my article to get published , nothing. Just sent the team my final product.
I had considered writing before , but anyone who knows me , ( including the editing team here) , will know I am not the world’s greatest speller or have great grammar. I know more than some and way less than others about watches. I know however what a good event and bad one is and have a love of watches.
I thought I would give it a go. What I found from the confidence of that first article was then an outlet , a distraction from the stress of day to day life and somewhere for a creative outlet.
I am an amateur and it provided somewhere to publish my writing , allowed me a place to be creative , and really help my mental health by focusing on a goal in a hobby I enjoy. The mind is at it’s best when it’s occupied. There is a saying , if you don’t use it you lose it.

I continue to be amateur in both my writing skill and level of knowledge of watches. I am learning as I go.
Without sounding like I joined a cult or signed up to a Hollywood movement with questionable motives , WatchDNA has been a surprising but welcomed addition to my hobby and given me a sense of personal achievement.
The people surrounding it , fellow writers , Thomas himself and special mention to the patience of Flor who adds her unique professional polishing to the article , editing , graphics , and final layout.
Professional journalists who are also on the platform have reached out to help or read over my articles if I want. It’s connected a number of people also who in time I am sure I will meet at an event or two.
They are doing this for the love of the hobby and in that giving their own time to it. I am just happy I am able to give a small piece to it’s continued growth and they keep asking me.
