A WEEK ON THE WRIST WITH THE SECOND HOUR "GIANT STRIDE"

A WEEK ON THE WRIST WITH THE SECOND HOUR "GIANT STRIDE"

A Week on the Wrist with the Second Hour "Giant Stride" and here are my initial impressions.

Let's get the specs out of the way: the 42x13x47mm case is robust but very wearable with the relatively short lug to lug length. It runs on a Sellita SW200 automatic. Visually it has wrist presence since the supercompressor style case typically looks larger due to the internal rotating bezel giving the dial a wider breadth.

This Bullseye Red colourway comes off a bit more reddish-orange, but nicely matches the red tips of the hands. Things I like: the lovely wave dial isn't a copy of Omega; packaging is a reusable 2-watch travel case; the internal rotating dive bezel has a locking crown so it will never move accidentally; and speaking of, both crowns are lumed!

The only thing I could think of improving are the endlinks. While the H-link bracelet is very comfortable with its milled clasp and 4 micro-adjusts, the female endlinks (can we still call them that?) don't fully articulate and stop short (Seinfeld reference) of hanging straight downwards.

A very minor quibble since the watch still wears very well with its down-turned lugs. Oh and if you're curious about the model name, it's the technique where the diver takes a 'giant stride' off the vessel to get into the water.

This is well displayed on the engraved caseback as well!
