BRISTON: A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON FRENCH WATCHMAKING

During Time to Watches, Thomas J. Sandrin, Founder of WatchDNA, spoke with Marion Jacques, Export Sales Manager at Briston, about the French brand's current direction, its international presence and the novelties it is presenting for 2026. Based in Paris, Briston continues to develop its offering around a recognizable design language and cellulose acetate, a material closely associated with its identity.

A Brand With Parisian Roots

Briston presents itself as a French brand from Paris and, as Marion Jacques explained, its participation in Time to Watches marks its third appearance at the event, once again held at Villa Sarasin.

The 2026 selection brings together continuing models and new designs. Across the collection, one of the elements that defines Briston remains present: the use of acetate, a material the brand has made an essential part of its design language.

Paris as a Point of Connection

Briston's presence in France has one of its main points of reference in its Paris boutique, located in the city's third arrondissement, in Le Marais. For Marion, the location is particularly meaningful because it is an area closely associated with trends, art and the cultural activity of the city.

In addition to the boutique, the brand works with several retailers across France. Its commercial presence also extends to Switzerland, while its international development continues across other markets, particularly in Asia and America. For these customers, Briston's digital channels complement its physical presence and provide access to the brand's latest designs.

Acetate as a Distinctive Element

Cellulose acetate occupies a central place in the conversation about Briston's identity. Marion refers to it directly as part of the brand's DNA, a characteristic that continues to appear throughout its latest designs.

This continuity is particularly visible in the novelties presented at the event, where the material accompanies new interpretations of the brand's designs while maintaining a connection with the visual language that defines Briston.

A New Silhouette for the Streamline Kennedy

Among the watches presented during the meeting was the Streamline Kennedy. The model introduces a new case configuration with a square shape, an evolution that expands the forms found within Briston's offering.

The new silhouette retains the use of cellulose acetate, creating a direct link between the evolution of the design and one of the brand's fundamental elements.

Marion also noted that some of the watches presented had arrived recently, with certain launches taking place in the previous months and others arriving virtually during the week of the event.

An Identity That Continues to Develop

The meeting at Time to Watches also highlighted Briston's international dimension. Following their previous meeting in Hong Kong, Thomas J. Sandrin and Marion Jacques discussed the brand's presence in Asia and its development across other international markets.

With Paris as its base and a presence that continues to grow across France, Switzerland, Asia and America, Briston moves forward with its 2026 novelties while keeping cellulose acetate as one of the elements that best represents its identity.
