Marathon Watch Company traces its roots to 1904, when Hersh Wein founded Weinstrum Watch. His son Morris Wein founded Marathon in Montreal in 1939, and by 1941 the brand was supplying wristwatches and timing instruments to Allied forces.
Today Marathon is headquartered in Vaughan, Canada, and assembles its watches in its own factory in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. It still develops and supplies timepieces under contract to the Canadian, U.S. and British governments and other Allied forces.
The range is built around three families: the Search and Rescue (SAR) dive watches, the Navigator pilot watches and the General Purpose field watches, lit with tritium gas tubes and MaraGlo luminescence.
Marathon's Compact Alarm Clock with Temperature and Date, boasts a large, easy-to-read display, it ensures visibility from a distance and allows the user to set a clear, loud alarm with a progressive interval ring. Benefit from a super-illuminating cool blue backlight. Features include 12/24hr display, calendar (month, date, and day), and temperature options (°C or °F).
