Founded in 1735 in Villeret, in the Swiss Jura, Blancpain is the oldest watch brand in the world. Today the Manufacture works from Le Brassus and Le Sentier in the Vallée de Joux and Paudex, and it has never made a quartz watch.
In 1953 it launched the Fifty Fathoms, the first modern dive watch, and in 1956 the Ladybird, then driven by the smallest round movement in the world. Both were created under Betty Fiechter, the first woman to lead a Swiss watchmaking house.
The range is built around the Villeret classic dress watches and complete calendars, the Fifty Fathoms and Bathyscaphe dive watches, the Ladybird ladies' watches and the Air Command pilot chronographs. Blancpain belongs to the Swatch Group.
