Brand Heritage
Watchmaker to Kings Since 1785
L. Leroy was founded in Paris in 1785 by Charles Leroy, son of a watchmaker, and was appointed watchmaker to the King from its inception, later supplying the French imperial family. In London it was watchmaker to Queen Victoria and kept a boutique on Old Bond Street.
Few names in watchmaking can claim royal clients from the 18th century onward.
The Navy and the Leroy 01
In 1835 L. Leroy became watchmaker to the French Ministry of the Navy, supplying European naval fleets until the late 1980s. In 1900 Louis Leroy presented the 'Leroy 01', winner of the Grand Prix at the Paris Universal Exhibition, which remained the benchmark for highly complicated watchmaking until 1989.
For almost 90 years, the most complicated watch in the world carried the Leroy name.
Made in Geneva, Relaunched in 2025
Today L. Leroy watches are entirely manufactured in Geneva, focused on high complications, métiers d'art and gem-setting. The Maison marked its 240th anniversary in 2025 with the Osmior Bal du Temps at Geneva Watch Days.
A historic French house reborn with proprietary Geneva-made calibres.
