Brand Heritage
The Inventor of the Automatic Watch
Abraham-Louis Perrelet, born in Le Locle in 1729, developed a self-winding watch in 1777 powered by the movement of the wearer. In 1780 he also developed the first pedometer.
Every automatic watch on the market owes something to this name — and every Perrelet is automatic as a tribute.
The Double Rotor and the Turbine
In 1995 Perrelet introduced the patented Double Rotor, adding a visible rotor on the dial. Since 2009 the Turbine has reinterpreted it with a 12-blade wheel that spins freely over the dial with every wrist movement, becoming the brand's icon; in 2013 chronograph and tourbillon versions followed.
Hand the client a Turbine and ask them to move their wrist — the dial comes alive.
A True Manufacture
With the in-house P-321 calibre in 2012, Perrelet became a manufacture again. Today it develops, decorates, adjusts and assembles its own automatic calibres and even produces its own balance springs.
Very few brands make their own balance spring — it's the clearest sign of real watchmaking independence.
