The Windup Watch Fair in Chicago (July 11–13, 2025) brought together some of the most dynamic names in watchmaking — from independent upstarts to storied brands with global presence. Representing WatchDNA, I had the chance to sit down with VJ Geronimo, CEO of Americas for Oris, for an interview that touched on the brand’s latest novelties, its design direction, and its ongoing mission to stay true to its independent roots.
A Taste of Summer – Aquis Date
One of the highlights of our discussion was the recently launched ‘Aquis Date Taste of Summer’ collection, which is vibrant, colourful, and unapologetically playful. This collection is ideally suited for summer wear

Hölstein Edition 2025
Every year on 1 June, the birthday of Oris, they release a special watch, the Hölstein Edition. This year’s is a play on the ProPilot, with black DLC detailing and a full-lume dial that glows green in the dark to reveal the Oris Bear. This is a limited edition of only 250 pieces. During the interview, you can see how the watch glows.

While we discussed the technical details of these releases, what stood out most in my conversation with VJ was Oris’s broader vision — staying true to their roots while embracing bold design choices that speak to both seasoned collectors and first-time buyers.
Oris’s presence at Windup Chicago was a reminder that strong brands can stand tall in a crowded market by doing what they do best — building great watches with authenticity, character, and a touch of surprise.
Time is more than seconds ticking away. It is a catalyst for transformation. Stay tuned for more highlights from the Windup Watch Fair, coming soon to WatchDNA.
