Inspired by this vibrant cultural heritage, MIDO presents the new Multifort TV Big Date Día de los Muertos Alebrijes Special Edition, a special edition that celebrates the spirit of a Mexican tradition that honours those who have passed with joy rather than sorrow.

A vibrant Mexican inspiration

Since 2020, MIDO has celebrated Día de los Muertos with a new special edition every year. In 2026, this tradition begins a new chapter by combining the iconic shape of the Multifort TV Big Date with alebrijes, fantastic creatures born from the Mexican imagination.

Día de los Muertos celebrates memory, life and the enduring bond between generations. In this edition, alebrijes bring a new creative dimension to the story, with fantastic shapes and vibrant colours transforming the dial into an expressive world of its own.

A dial that comes to life

At the centre of the dial, a radiant skull is surrounded by alebrijes, delicate details and vivid colours. The composition takes on a different expression as darkness falls, thanks to Super-LumiNova®, which reveals new details and transforms the dial into an unexpected luminous dimension.

The watch also retains one of the distinctive features of the Multifort TV Big Date: the Big Date aperture positioned at 12 o’clock. Its rectangular stainless steel case measures 39.2 x 40 mm and features a sapphire crystal with double-sided anti-reflective coating.

Three expressions, one watch

The special edition comes with two additional interchangeable straps, expanding the ways the watch can be expressed. Stainless steel, red rubber and mesh options offer three different personalities while maintaining the essence of the Multifort TV Big Date Alebrijes.

The watch is water-resistant to 10 bar, equivalent to 100 metres or 330 feet, and features a screw-down crown and transparent case back. With a weight of 155 grams and an average thickness of 11.5 mm, it maintains a defined presence on the wrist.

The performance of Calibre 80

Inside the Multifort TV Big Date Alebrijes is the Calibre 80, a latest-generation automatic movement offering up to 80 hours of power reserve. This autonomy is twice that of a conventional movement, providing extended running time between winding periods.

The calibre also features a Nivachron™ balance spring, designed to provide outstanding resistance to shocks and magnetic fields. Combined with its up to 80-hour power reserve, this technology reinforces the watch's focus on performance and functionality for everyday use.

With this special edition, MIDO takes the Multifort TV Big Date into a new visual territory. The alebrijes, central skull and luminous details transform the dial into a colourful and symbolic interpretation while preserving the model's distinctive identity.
