The Trematic project was born in 2022 with the aim of bringing back to life a brand that had left its mark in the golden age of watchmaking. The Maison, based in Genève, crafted true masterpieces during the fifties and sixties — moon phases, triple calendars and other magnificent complications — and took part in prestigious cobranding operations with major brands in both the jewellery and timepiece fields. Like many other Swiss houses it ceased its activities during the quartz crisis in the eighties, but a new path has now begun. The majority of the original Trematic watches were powered by Felsa automatic movements; Felsa, a Grenchen-based company born in 1918 that became part of Ebauches SA in 1928 and whose brand is today part of the Swatch Group, produced the first movements after the expiry of the Rolex patent to use a bidirectional winding rotor — a great innovation at the time, and now used in automatic movements the world over.
The house's mission today is to create a timepiece that is reliable in its mechanics, balanced in its proportions, elegant in its forms, and sustainable and refined in its materials: a watch that interprets the present while respecting both the values and the traditions of the past. Its motto is that quality is the measure of our time, and it creates Swiss Made timepieces applying a simple but demanding criterion — high-level finishing and the finest manufacturing at a fair price — recalling the lines and shapes of the past while crafted with modern techniques, so that a watch might fit the wrist like a vintage one but last even longer. Guiding Trematic today is Daniele Campagnano, a graduate in economics from the Catholic University of Rome who from 2012 worked for the foreign and internationalisation service of Confindustria in Turin as operations coordinator of the Exclusive Brands business network, and from 2018 served as head of the watch department of a well-known Italian brand, before acquiring Trematic in 2022 to relaunch it. The collection includes the Archivio Uno 502, the ZY6 automatic dress watches, the T-Five Beigua Maris and the 802 Limited, sold with free worldwide delivery and a five-year international warranty.
