Praesidus is an American watch brand founded in 2019 by Remi and Oscar Chabrat — a father-and-son duo united by a shared mission: to create rugged, reliable timepieces worthy of honouring the veterans and military personnel who serve and protect. Remi, a veteran French airman and parachutist, brought the conviction; Oscar, shaped by over a decade living in the United States, brought the American perspective. The brand's name is rooted in the Latin word for protector, guardian, and defender — a deliberate tribute to those who stand watch. That spirit was present from the very first watch: a near-exact replica of a WWII-era A-11 that veteran Tom Rice lost in the ocean during his D-Day deployment in Normandy. Recovering and recreating that watch became the founding act of Praesidus and the blueprint for everything that followed. Every watch is assembled at the brand's headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, and the brand donates five percent of all proceeds from military and tactical watch sales to veterans, museums, and related partner causes. Collections span the A-11 (including the Type 44 and Utah Beach editions), the DD-45, the A-5 UDT, the Field, the Jungle Field, the Rec Spec, and the PAC-76 — many developed in close collaboration with veterans associations and military museums to ensure historical accuracy and authenticity. Praesidus also offers bespoke unit commission programmes, allowing military units to create their own custom timepieces.
