Since 2013, OOO – Out of Order has stood out in the watchmaking world for its bold and innovative vision. The idea was born from a personal challenge faced by co-founder Riccardo Torrisi: repairing a luxury watch without having the budget to do so. Inspired by items that become more fascinating over time — like faded jeans or worn leather jackets — a revolutionary concept took shape, and Riccardo joined forces with Claudio Dalla Mora and Dario Ceolotto to create a brand that breaks the mould, reimagining the iconic timepieces of the sixties and seventies with a fresh, contemporary spirit. This led to the birth of the first 'damaged' watches, an entirely new concept in watchmaking in which a worn look becomes a mark of style and authenticity.
May 2013 marked the debut of the very first Out of Order prototype, a watch that embodied the brand's defining philosophy of boldness, artisanal care and authenticity. The goal was ambitious yet clear: to create a timepiece that looked like it had already lived a life, without compromising on quality or precision. That first model had a hand-aged stainless steel case of 44 mm, a rotating irregularly brushed bezel, internally tropicalised mineral glass, applied and artisanally aged indices and a Miyota 2115 quartz movement. Over the years the house developed and patented its handcrafted Damaged in Italy finish, an exclusive treatment that gives 316L stainless steel cases and bracelets their distinctive worn appearance; each detail is hand-finished by expert artisans, making every timepiece one of a kind, and this approach remains the beating heart of a brand internationally recognised for its unique character and unconventional attitude. To celebrate its tenth anniversary in 2023, the house expanded its lineup with new collections also available in a classic version, in brushed 316L stainless steel with an elegant never-used-before finish.
