Milus is a Swiss watchmaking house founded in 1919 by Paul William Junod in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland — a brand whose history spans more than a century of design innovation, cultural recognition, and quiet independence. Refined and minimalistic in harmony with its legacy since 1919, Milus aims to enhance its close affinity with today's modern individual.
Under Paul Herbert Junod, who took over in 1951, the company grew rapidly — production increased by 200% and the workforce expanded from 35 to 50 employees. In 1962, a modernist headquarters designed by architect Edouard Lanz was completed in Bienne. Throughout the 1970s, Milus won the prestigious Rose d'Or de Baden-Baden three consecutive times (1970, 1971, 1973) for models including La Mer, Pocket Watch, and Avant-garde. In 1972, the brand co-founded Ditronic SA with four other watchmakers to produce the first electronic LCD watches in Switzerland.
By the 1980s and 1990s, Milus watches were displayed in world museums including MoMA in New York. In 2000 the brand was nominated among the "50 brands of Swiss watchmaking in the 20th century." A notable chapter in the brand's heritage: the Snow Star watch was issued to US Navy pilots as part of survival kits.
In 2019, on its centenary, Milus relaunched under the leadership of Luc Tissot with the LAB and ICONIC collections. In 2024, the brand received the Switzerland Prestige Award for Luxury Watch Brand of the Year.
