MAKINA is a family-owned Filipino watch company whose name means 'machine', derived from the Spanish word máquina — and also what movements are called in its homeland, the Philippines. With a subtle lean toward form over function, its design language fuses industrial grit with quiet elegance, aimed at those looking for something different: a little off-centre, defiant and entirely their own, made in limited numbers by design.

The brand's timepieces have gained recognition from design institutions including Chicago's Good Design Award, the Milan A' Design Awards, the International Design Awards, the European Product Design Awards, the Muse Design Awards, the New York Product Design Awards, the London Design Awards and the London International Creative Competition. Its portfolio spans a standard collection — with models such as Cassiel, Uriel, Andras, Azazel, Mephisto and the M33 — alongside commissioned timepieces created for companies and organisations including the Philippine Olympic Committee, San Miguel Corporation, the Philippine Military, Megaworld International, the Altria Group, the Freemasons, Remitly and the Philippine Heart Center. The MK01 was produced as a Philippine Independence Day project with the artist QUICCS, and the house continues to offer custom-made commissions.
