Leikr is a Danish sports technology company founded in 2012 by a team of professionals with a shared background in developing state-of-the-art electronic products for a leading brand in the mobile phone industry. Driven by a common passion for endurance sports — particularly running and cycling — the team set out to create the best GPS training device an athlete could desire, channeling years of accumulated expertise into a single, purpose-built wearable. The result was the Leikr 1, a feature-rich GPS sports watch designed around three core principles: simple to plan, simple to monitor, and simple to review. Powered by a 300MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor running a custom Linux OS, the watch offered a 2-inch TFT color display with on-board maps, multi-sport profiles, ANT+ connectivity for heart rate monitors, footpods and cadence sensors, and seamless integration with leading endurance platforms including Endomondo, Strava, and MapMyRun.
What began as a running watch evolved into one of the most reliable tools in professional football refereeing, trusted in some of the largest stadiums across Europe. Leikr's precision engineering later expanded into sailing, offering real-time performance data during competitive sailing events. Based in Glostrup, Denmark under the legal entity LCmVeloci ApS, Leikr stands as a testament to Scandinavian engineering — combining technical rigor with intuitive design in the pursuit of athletic excellence.
