Laine is an independent watchmaking atelier founded by Torsti Laine, a Finnish watchmaker who relocated to La Chaux-de-Fonds — the heartland of Swiss watchmaking — to dedicate himself to handcrafting bespoke timepieces. A graduate of the prestigious Finnish School of Watchmaking, Torsti honed his craft working alongside A. Lange & Söhne in Germany and Voutilainen in Switzerland before striking out on his own. In 2014, he was awarded the Lange Watchmaking Excellence Award, the highest monetary prize in any watchmaking competition in the world. Working entirely by hand, Torsti creates made-to-order timepieces across a range of collections — from the manual-wind P37 with hand-turned guilloche dials to the automatic micro-rotor V38 series and the larger GG3 and Gelidus 3 models — each fully customisable and finished to the standards of independent haute horlogerie.
