Kieser Design is a small independent watchmaker based near Frankfurt, led by founder, engineer and designer Matthias Kieser, who started out crafting handmade one-of-a-kind pieces. In its own workshop, modern machining and engineering meet traditional goldsmith craftsmanship, and the brand makes many key components itself, from cases and crowns to hands, dials, rotors and buckles, each finished and checked by hand. Bionics is at the heart of its work: inspired by structures found in nature, Kieser uses titanium and lightweight construction, and its patented titanium exoskeleton became the foundation of the tragwerk sports watch.
The tragwerk2.0 takes that idea further: for the first time the exoskeleton is 3D-printed in titanium layer by layer rather than milled from a solid block, making it lighter, stronger and more precise. Its dial carries more than 250 individually milled honeycomb cells inspired by the dragonfly, together with a screw-down crown and a new quick-release system; the Navy Blue and Amber versions are limited to 25 pieces each at €4,950, and the more reduced tragwerk2.0 BLACK costs €7,960. The Signature Edition Purple, also limited to 25 pieces, is made in grade 5 titanium with an anodised violet dial, and custom editions are possible from five pieces.
