Jurmo is a Finnish manufacturer of mechanical watches, active since 2017 and named after Jurmo, an island on the outskirts of the Finnish Archipelago whose eventful history and unique geography inspire its collections. The watches are built around Swiss ETA movement bases, while almost everything else is made in the brand's own workshop in Otaniemi, Espoo, Finland's technology hub: custom designs, machined parts such as hands, case components and customised movement parts, in-house coatings, every dial colour and print, finishing and final assembly all happen under one roof. Through its Jurmo DNA service, customers can modify an existing model or create a custom Jurmo of their own.
The Karu is a 32 mm, 8 mm-thin automatic with an ETA 2892, offered in colours such as Stone Red, Sea Blue and the mother-of-pearl Seasons Winter. The Stark, limited to 25 pieces, pairs a modified ETA 2892 with a 39 mm case and a 14-facet bezel rated to 100 m, while the Sisu D, limited to 30 pieces, shows a skeletonised, blue-coated ETA 6497 in a 42 mm case. The 38 mm R0 is a vintage-inspired racing chronograph with an ETA 7750 and a flyback module, also available as the slimmer hand-wound R0 Siro.
