The Imperial Peterhof Factory, founded in 1721 by decree of Peter the Great, has traversed a unique three-hundred-year journey in which each era represents a new facet of technical perfection. From the very first years of its existence the factory was closely linked to the Russian Empire: working with natural stone, its craftsmen created works that embodied the empire's grandeur and power, and pieces from the factory were presented as gifts to members of the inner court circle — the ultimate mark of recognition. The timepieces the house makes today carry on that tradition, combining exquisite craftsmanship with the nobility of fine stones.

The revolution transformed the country's economy but not the factory's craftsmanship, which found a new calling in precision: processing rubies for watch movements. This marked the starting point for the founding of the Petrodvorets Watch Factory, and to this day every IPF movement contains 24 ruby jewels and is encased in a noble stone setting as a reminder of its origins in the world of lapidary art. IPF timepieces represent a blend of two arts, stone carving and watchmaking, with centuries-old stone-working traditions meeting modern technology; dials are cut from materials such as dumortierite, landscape jasper and graphics jasper. The masters of the factory produce and assemble the watches in accordance with the highest quality standards, and, staying true to imperial traditions, its artisans hand-decorate every movement in a distinctive signature style. The house also offers a configurator through which clients can design their own piece.
