H.G.P. makes diving watches by divers, for divers. The name belongs to a renowned establishment that thrived as a prominent diving equipment store in the heart of Paris, serving enthusiasts and professionals alike from the 1970s to the 1990s. It opened in 1970, during the exhilarating emergence of scuba diving, and became a beloved institution that supplied divers with top-notch gear and fostered a vibrant diving community over the two decades that followed.
Through the 1970s and 1980s, HGP — by then a name synonymous with diving excellence — forged strategic partnerships with esteemed members of the French watchmaking industry, including the legendary case maker Georges Monnin. For two decades the store embarked on a collaborative journey to craft bespoke diving watches bearing the HGP brand, blending robust engineering with efficient design: solid yet approachable instruments that stood as a testament to an unwavering commitment to underwater exploration. In 2023 the brand returned, driven by the collaboration of the venerable G. Monnin case maker, the Wolbrook Watch Company bringing engineering and design expertise, and MNP Solution Horlogère handling assembly and final quality control in the Besançon area of France. As Mustapha, CEO of MNP Solutions Horlogère, puts it: 'We are honored to continue the legacy of French watchmaking with iconic diving watches like HGP.' The current range includes the Diver GMT 200M Automatic, the Diver 200M and 300M Automatic and their Commando executions, and mecaquartz and chrono-mecaquartz models, all assembled in the heart of France.
