Gavox is a Belgian watch microbrand founded in 2011 by Michael Happé — an engineer and pilot who, at 40, decided life was too short not to build his dream. Trained in design and watchmaking by his cousin, Happé created Gavox as a symbol of freedom, joy, and exploration. The name itself reflects that ethos: a blend of the Greek 'galaxias' (the Milky Way) and the Latin 'vox' (voice), with a mission of being the 'voice of our universe.' Based in Brussels, Gavox produces timing instruments inspired by those who dare to go higher, deeper, and farther — drawing on aviation, marine, and motorsport traditions. In 2014, Gavox became the official watchmaker of the 15th Wing and the 350 Squadron of the Belgian Air Force, and today over 30 military squadrons count on Gavox — with more than 800 pilots wearing their watches in flight. The collections span the spectrum: the Aurora is perhaps the most ambitious Gavox to date, combining a chronograph, moon phase, day/date, and a second time zone adjustable in 15-minute increments to serve the 20% of the world that falls outside standard time zones. The AviDiver bridges pilot and dive watch disciplines, while the Longitude and other lines bring Gavox's instrument-inspired design to a broader audience. A true microbrand, Gavox sells directly to its customers — the founder personally handles every order — and treats every buyer as a brand ambassador.
