Bimbu is a Swiss watchmaking house founded by brothers Aldo and Mario Magada, and its name is the term of endearment the two founding brothers have always used for one another — a word that resonates with the gentle cadence of Italian and the innocence of childhood, transcending a mere familial nickname to embody values of trust, benevolence, freedom of being and authenticity. Aldo Magada, with over 40 years of experience in the watchmaking industry working for prestigious brands, is the source of the passion he shares with Mario for fine Swiss mechanical watchmaking, and together they embraced the bold challenge of creating a brand from the ground up rather than reviving a name from the past. The passing of their elder brother Juan served as the catalyst that propelled them to bring the family project to fruition.
Inspired by the model of 19th-century watchmaking counters, Aldo and Mario have united the expertise of the finest watchmakers, case makers and dial makers around values that reflect their own, with the ambition of creating sophisticated timepieces with complete simplicity and transparency. The approach is accompanied by complete traceability of all components, each manufactured in Switzerland, and the house presents itself as a philosophy and a state of mind speaking to a community of connoisseurs and aesthetes in pursuit of genuine experiences — a new definition of luxury that is more discreet, not ostentatious but revealed through subtle details. Bimbu embodies the Italian soul, Swiss excellence and the expression of universal values. Its inaugural collection is Patrium, which the Maison presented to a South American audience for the first time at SIAR Summer 2026.
