In 1961 André Mouche and his wife Gracia founded their company in Fahy, in the Swiss Jura. They created a wristwatch in a jewel style, superbly decorated by Mrs Mouche in a wide range of colours. Those semi-rigid wristwatches with lids, decorated by brush, gradually became the company's trademark — to the point that André Mouche is one of the very few remaining companies in Switzerland that still decorate their watches by hand.

The brand describes itself as 100% Swiss made and 100% heart, and the claim is unusually literal: it is one of the few houses that handle the entire production in Switzerland, from the 18-carat gold plating to the delicate hand-enamelled floral motifs. Skilled workers apply lacquer, varnish or gold flecks with fine brushes, one piece at a time, so no two watches leave the atelier quite alike.

The watches are built on a non-allergic alloy plated in 18-carat gold or palladium, and run on Swiss movements chosen for reliability and years of autonomy. The proposition is a handmade jewel watch designed to be worn like fine jewellery rather than read like an instrument, and for more than fifty years every one of them has been processed, assembled and decorated in the workshops at Fahy, in the green setting of the Swiss Jura.
