WEI KOH APPOINTED PRESIDENT OF THE GRAND PRIX D’HORLOGERIE DE GENÈVE JURY FOR 2026

The world of fine watchmaking has received a key announcement for its annual calendar: Wei Koh has been appointed President of the jury for the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève 2026 edition, with the ceremony scheduled for November 7 at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva.

A prominent figure in the industry, Koh is known as the founder of Revolution and The Rake, as well as for his work as a journalist, entrepreneur, and filmmaker. His deep knowledge of the sector and global vision make him a natural choice to lead one of watchmaking’s most important juries.

A High-Profile Appointment

The announcement was endorsed by Raymond Loretan, President of the GPHG Foundation, who emphasized Koh’s ability to bring an international perspective to an increasingly globalized context. His independent profile and passion for horology strengthen the GPHG’s role as a leading platform for recognizing excellence and creativity in watchmaking.

Former jury president Nick Foulkes, who served from 2021 to 2025, welcomed the appointment and expressed confidence that Koh would bring energy, enthusiasm, and a unique vision to the role.

Wei Koh’s Vision

In his first statements, Koh described his appointment as one of the greatest honors of his life. He emphasized his commitment to preserving the values of authentic watchmaking and highlighted the unique convergence of engineering, craftsmanship, science, and art within the field.

He also expressed his intention to contribute to the evolution of the jury and increase the GPHG’s international visibility, while honoring the legacy of his predecessors.

A Rigorous Selection Process

The GPHG jury plays a decisive role in the second voting round. Members meet behind closed doors days before the ceremony to physically evaluate the approximately 90 watches pre-selected by the Academy.

This process is complemented by the digital voting of over a thousand Academy members, whose vote accounts for one-third of the final result, ensuring a balanced outcome between expert judgment and diversity of opinion.

The full jury for 2026 will be officially announced in mid-September.

GPHG: Over Two Decades Celebrating Excellence

Since its creation in 2001, the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève has established itself as the highest recognition in the watch industry. Supervised by a public-interest foundation since 2011, its mission remains clear: to promote the art of watchmaking internationally and highlight the very best of a constantly evolving sector.

With Wei Koh taking over as jury president, the 2026 edition promises not only to maintain this legacy but also to project it even more strongly on the global stage.
