Elgé is a heritage-revival watch brand rooted in the tradition of Savoyard French watchmaking. Originally founded in Annecy in the late 1940s, the brand earned recognition for its robust—and elegantly adventurous—tool watches powered by French and Swiss mechanical movements. After ceasing operations during the quartz crisis in 1973, Elgé has made a modern comeback with renewed respect for its artisanal origins and regional craftsmanship. The brand specializes in the Chamonix, a “French-style tool watch” that melds retro design cues—like bold “Magnum” hands, generous indices, and custom serif typography—with contemporary performance features. These include a 38 mm 316L stainless-steel case, 150 m water resistance, screw-down crown and caseback, domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating, and finishes combining brushed and polished surfaces.
