The countdown is over. Dubai Watch Week (DWW) has now begun, once again cementing its position as the essential cultural platform that transcends the definition of a simple trade show. This event brings together the best of global watchmaking art, innovation, and tradition, and its activities are currently in full swing, attracting enthusiasts and professionals from around the world.



Prepare yourselves, enthusiasts and collectors, because the Seventh Edition of Dubai Watch Week is making a grand return.

  • Dates: November 19 to 23, 2025.
  • Iconic Venues: The event will take place in two iconic locations: the Dubai Mall and Burj Park.
Under the prestigious patronage of Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, this edition promises to exceed all expectations.

Day One Highlights: Innovation and Leadership

The first day of Dubai Watch Week 2025 set a precedent for ambition and innovation with two central themes dominating the conversation: a revolutionary technological collaboration and a crucial leadership debate on the industry's future.

 

1. AP and Dubai Future Foundation: Presentation of "The Box"

The alliance between Audemars Piguet and the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) culminated in the presentation of an officially unnamed device, nicknamed "The Box."

 

 

  • What is it? A smart device that automatically sets and winds the latest 41mm Audemars Piguet Perpetual Calendar watches.
  • Innovation: It fuses traditional Swiss watchmaking with Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, and computer vision.
  • Mission: To simplify the management and setting of one of the most complex complications, using an AI algorithm to independently identify and adjust the calendar functions. This project sets a new standard for what is possible when uniting advanced technology with centuries-old craftsmanship.

 

 

2. Keynote Conference: "The Time to Act is Now"

The inaugural conference brought together two giants: Jean-Frédéric Dufour (CEO of Rolex) and Abdul Hamied Seddiqi (Chairman of Seddiqi Holding), in a rare and profound discussion on the state of the industry.

Three Key Shared Lessons:

  • Young Talent: The urgent need to attract and retain new generations of technicians and engineers, making watchmaking a prestigious and appealing profession.
  • Durable Commercial Alliances: The importance of maintaining trust and strong alliances with key local retail partners, a model that Rolex reaffirms.
  • AI in the Industry: Both leaders agreed that AI and automation are essential for the precision and modernization of processes (machinery), but the human connection must remain the core of customer interaction (for example, in after-sales service). 

 

 

High Horology Flexes Its Muscle

The opening day was marked by high-complexity launches and trend-defining models, demonstrating that the industry is in a moment of full technical experimentation:

  • TAG Heuer presented a high-performance piece that stole the show: the new Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph Air 1, standing out for its complexity within the emblematic Monaco line.
  • Chopard dazzled with the L.U.C Grand Strike, a striking watch that incorporates the fascinating minute repeater complication.
  • Tudor aligned with the trend of smaller cases by revealing a new model of its popular Tudor Ranger with a crisp white dial and a case reduced to 36mm.
  • Biver, Jean-Claude Biver's brand, expanded its Automatique collection with nine new models that are a feast for the eyes, incorporating sophisticated hard stone dials and guilloché finishes.
  • Decorative art also had its space with Van Cleef & Arpels, which displayed the stunning Brassée de Lavande table automaton, a piece that fuses watchmaking with kinetic art.

 

This launch proved Dubai Watch Week's unwavering commitment to being the premier global forum for dialogue, innovation, and the future of watchmaking. As the event continues until November 23rd, Dubai Watch Week reaffirms itself as the epicenter where precision, craftsmanship, and a forward-looking vision converge, consolidating its position as the unmissable date to witness the birth of the next era of High Horology.
