SHOULD YOU PAIR YOUR WATCH WITH YOUR CAR OR TO YOUR CAR?

Last week, we had the pleasure of attending a milestone celebration—the 30th anniversary of Toronto Auto Brokers (TAB). More than an automotive event, it was a curated experience that brought together precision engineering, innovative design, and the timeless appeal of luxury.

Amid the polished curves of exotic machines, fine miniature mechanical expertise was also on display. GemBijou, the authorized retailer of luxury watches, had a striking presence at the event. Their booth showcased timepieces that echoed the same values embodied by the vehicles around them: craftsmanship, performance, and identity.

And that’s what sparked the thought:
Should you pair your watch with your car, or to your car?

Let us explain.

A lifestyle alignment. You're wearing your watch because it complements the story your car tells—a Royal Oak with a Bentley, a Richard Mille with a McLaren. It’s synergy. Style mirroring substance.

Pairing your watch with your car suggests a sense of harmony. However, pairing your watch with your car suggests an intent. Purpose. You’re not just matching aesthetics; you're making a statement about the kind of driver and person you are. Identity. That Porsche 911 you drive isn’t just a vehicle; it’s a reflection of your discipline, your ambition, and your narrative: TAG Heuer Carreras or OMEGA Speedmasters. The watch needs to echo your journey.

And that’s what we come back to when talking about watches:
Time is more than the passing hour. It’s a catalyst for transformation by the minute.
It’s about the choices we make, the roads we take, and the lifestyle enjoyed with each fleeting second.

There’s no denying that watches and cars have become deeply symbolic, especially for men. They’re not just accessories or tools—they’re markers of identity. When you put the two together, it’s not just about wealth or luxury. It’s about storytelling. What do your watch and your car say about you?

At events like this, surrounded by roaring engines and silent tourbillons, it becomes clear. The most compelling combinations aren’t about matching metals or horsepower. It’s about matching intention.

Our vision for WatchDNA has always been to create a platform where watch lovers can connect, experience brand events, and—most importantly—share their passion with a like-minded community.

We’re proud to host and witness the publication of this very first article, which brings together two incredible watch aficionados. It’s a perfect example of what this community is all about.

We’re thrilled to have both as contributors to the WatchDNA family.
