During the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair, one of the most important events in the global watch industry, we had the opportunity to speak with Jean Sebastian, representative of Aerowatch, a Swiss brand whose history dates back to 1910 and that can claim something increasingly rare: it has never stopped producing watches since its founding.
Aerowatch is a brand deeply connected to the pocket watch, a specialty that has defined its identity for more than a century. This tradition remains very much alive today, as the brand currently offers around 60 different pocket watch references, all of them still in production.
From pocket watches to wristwatches
The year 2005 marked a key turning point in Aerowatch’s recent history. That was when the brand launched its first Swiss-made wristwatch collection, expanding its offering while remaining faithful to its watchmaking heritage.
Since then, one of the most representative lines has been the 1942 Collection, a timeless series that forms part of the brand’s modern DNA. Within this collection, the regulator model stands out, a classic configuration that directly references traditional watchmaking and functional time display.

Skeleton watches and hand craftsmanship
During our visit to the Aerowatch stand at the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair, the brand also showcased its expertise in skeleton watches. Aerowatch began working on skeletonized pieces almost 20 years ago, starting with a classic design approach and committing to fully hand-finished decoration.
The open movements and visible finishes highlight the brand’s dedication to craftsmanship and to an honest approach to watchmaking, where manual work continues to play a central role.

The Intuition collection
The Aerowatch catalog also includes the Intuition collection, a line featuring rectangular cases, powered by quartz movements, and available in versions set with diamonds. This collection adds a more contemporary dimension to the brand, demonstrating its aesthetic versatility.

Pocket watches: a tradition that evolves
Pocket watches remain a key element of Aerowatch’s identity. Alongside its classic models, the brand has developed modern pocket watch designs, created together with Jean Sebastian’s brother.
These pieces feature stainless steel cases, sapphire crystals, and Unit movements, all of them entirely hand-decorated, combining traditional techniques with a contemporary design language.

An independent brand with a strong presence in Switzerland
Aerowatch defines itself as an independent Swiss brand with a clear focus on offering excellent value for money, one of the core pillars of its philosophy.
This positioning is supported by a strong domestic distribution network. Today, the brand counts 120 points of sale in Switzerland, a particularly significant figure considering the size of the country and the high expectations of the Swiss market.

With more than a century of history, uninterrupted production, and a clear commitment to craftsmanship and genuine value, Aerowatch continues to demonstrate that Swiss watchmaking tradition can evolve without losing its essence.
