Festina is the flagship brand of the Festina Group and the oldest name in it, founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1902. The group it heads today is run from Barcelona, with manufacturing centres in Switzerland and Spain, seven country subsidiaries and a presence in more than ninety countries. Festina's own positioning has stayed consistent across that span: European design, quartz and automatic movements, and a level of finishing well above what the price suggests. Its longest-standing link outside watchmaking is with cycling, a sport whose demands on endurance and precision the brand has used as a mirror of its own since its earliest years, and which still gives its best-known collection its name.
Chrono Bike is that collection — light, compact and openly sporty, with Special Editions and individually numbered Limited Editions that add sapphire crystal, extra rubber straps and their own box sets. Around it sit the Timeless Chronograph, a calmer reading of the same complication; On The Square, built on a square dial for men and women; Connected, a hybrid that keeps a conventional dial while adding smartphone notifications; Mademoiselle, the official Miss France collection; Boyfriend, with larger cases and strong colour aimed at women who want presence on the wrist; and Ceramic, which uses the material for its lightness and its resistance to scratching.
Across the range the cases are stainless steel, some with ceramic bezels, with IP plating in gold, rosé, chocolate and colour on bracelets, hands and indexes; there are titanium models, slim cases, bracelets in steel, ceramic, rubber, leather and mesh, hardened mineral glass or sapphire on the more exclusive references, and divers rated to 20 bar. The actor Gerard Butler has been an ambassador since 2017 and appears alongside the Argentine model and presenter Martina Klein in the My Time campaign, shot in New York. Every watch carries a 24-month international guarantee.
