Pequignet, the French haute horlogerie Manufacture and certified "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" (“Living Heritage Company”), designs and manufactures its watches and movements in its Morteau workshops, in the heart of the Jura mountains. Founded in 1973 by Émile Péquignet, the Maison has always innovated by breaking established norms. Since becoming an independent manufacture in 2010, it has created exceptional movements such as the Calibre Royal®, the manual-winding Calibre Royal® and the Calibre Initial®. In 2021, Pequignet joined "Maisons & Manufactures" founded by Hugues Souparis. In 2024, the Manufacture launched the Calibre Royal® Tourbillon, confirming its status as an elite watchmaker.

1973
Émile Péquignet founded his watchmaking company in Morteau, France. He personally created and designed the first collections of the Maison.
1984
Pequignet introduced the Moorea watch, which quickly became the iconic model of the Maison.
1990
Pequignet watches were sold worldwide. The brand also became a key player in the horse riding world, reflecting Émile Péquignet’s passion for equestrian sports.
2004
Pequignet was acquired by Didier Leibundgut. Under his leadership and with a talented team of engineers, the Maison later created the Fine Watchmaking Laboratory in 2008, officially becoming a Manufacture.
2011
Pequignet introduced the Calibre Royal®, its first in-house high-precision movement made entirely in France after four years of development. The movement was fully designed, prototyped, assembled, and controlled in-house.
2018
Following the 2017 takeover by four employees, the Manufacture continued its growth by unveiling a manual-winding version of the Calibre Royal®.
2021
The Manufacture unveiled its third movement, the Calibre Initial®. Pequignet also joined Maisons et Manufactures to support entrepreneurial projects focused on preserving and developing French excellence and savoir-faire.
2023
To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Pequignet launched the Concorde anniversary model featuring the Maison’s signature design codes. The brand also participated for the first time at Watches and Wonders Geneva and opened its first boutique in Paris on Rue de Rennes.
2024
At Watches and Wonders 2024, Pequignet unveiled its first flying tourbillon, an exceptional horological achievement produced in a limited series of 24 pieces.
